OIL-FREE HEAD TO TOE MOISTURIZER
Formaldehyde
What is it? - An effective preservative, not often seen on personal care and cosmetic ingredients labels, but released by many commonly used preservatives such as diazolidinyl urea, imidazolidinyl urea, Dimethyl-dimethyl hydantoin, quaternium-15, and bronopol. All of these preservatives either contain or release formaldehyde, and can be found in face and body moisturizers, cleansers and body washes, sunscreens, shampoos, and conditioners.
Why avoid it? - It is linked with cancer, allergic reactions, skin toxicity, neurotoxicity, organ toxicity, mutagenic effects, cell toxicity, skin sensitization, reproductive effects and birth defects. Fortunately, you'll never find any formaldehyde releasing preservatives in our Lilypure Essentials products because we are serious about steering clear of questionable ingredients.
